Vintage Porcelain Mustache Mug with Currier & Ives Winter Scene - The Skating Pond
This 1970s mustache mug was produced in Japan for Knobler's Viking Imports company. The porcelain mug showcases a transfer print image from Currier & Ives titled "Central Park, Winter – The Skating Pond." This image, created in 1862, depicts a winter scene with skaters on the lake in New York's Central Park with the Bow Bridge in the background, set against the body of the white porcelain mug.
The mug is adorned with gilt pinstriping along the rim, handle, mustache guard, and base. It measures 3.75 inches (9.53 cm) in height and has a pedestal base with a diameter of 3.5 inches (8.89 cm). The mug is in excellent condition, showing only minor signs of wear on the base, and is free of chips or cracks.
