This 1940s splashed lustre jug was made in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire by Lancaster & Sandland and decorated for Gray’s Pottery under the Old Castle name. It features a detailed transfer print of a horse and carriage scene, hand-painted with color and framed by a mottled purple and pink lustre glaze. The iridescent finish reflects the decorative style of the era.

• Ceramic with splashed lustre glaze
• Transferware with hand-painted accents
• Marked with Lancaster & Sandland clasped hands stamp and Old Castle mark
• Made in England, 1940s
Condition:
Good vintage condition. Crazing throughout and minor wear to decoration consistent with age. No cracks or chips.
